We visit the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan. This glorious Victorian garden went to sleep following the first world war and has been lovingly pieced back together and restored to its former glory by a dedicated team of Gardners and volunteers.  You’ll get a personal guided tour before we take lunch in the Garden restaurant, full of their home grown produce.

The Eden project is our destination for the afternoon. This engineering marvel is built in a disused China clay pit, and is composed of two large Biomes, one full of tropical rainforest and  the other a fragrant mediterranean temperate zone. Designed to be not only a tourist destination, Eden is also all about education and research. We’ll give you a personal guided tour so you don’t miss anything.

We stay in the upper part of Cornwall for day 3, and our first stop is the Jewel in the National trust crown in Cornwall… Lanhydrock House and Gardens. Built in 1620 and rebuilt in the late 19th century after a fire, this house has everthing you’d expect from an English country house, and on a grand scale. You’ll be left to the expert guides onhand to explore the house and grounds. We’ll head off before lunch, and up onto Bodmin moor, to the little village of Minions. Here we’ll grab a snack to take with us on our walk on the moors. This is true moorland, with wild Dartmoor ponies, impressive rock stacks called Tors, and the added bonus of the Hurlers stone circle and several derelict Cornish Tin mines. Its easy to see why they chose to film some of the Poldark series up here!!

Our last stop of the day will be a guided tour of the ancient maritime port of Fowey, where you’ll get a chance to wander the narrow streets before we head back to your hotel.

We’ll start the day in Cornwall’s capital city of Truro. The smallest city in England, and with a cosmopoiitan mix of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, set amidst cobbled streets and grand buildings, it’s worthy of a stop. You’ll even have time to see the beautiful Victorian Cathedral. We are heading South today, and the next stop on route is the old thatched pub on the esturay at Restronguet called the Pandora. One of the finest places for a morning coffee, sitting on the pontoon on the water…. stunning.

We’ll drive through Falmouth, past the famous shipyard and Pendennis castle and following the tiny coast road to the Helford estuary.  Set on the estuary is a our next stop.. Trebah Gardens. You’ll get a guided tour of these sub tropical gardens. Famous for one of the finest collections of plants from all over the world collected by plant hunters in the 19th and early 20th century, the garden also has a hidden past to do with Omaha and the D Day landings.

Our afternoon will be spent exploring the Lizard Peninsula, and first stop is Ann’s Pasty shop to pick up our lunch. We’ll take it down to Lizard point to enjoy the spectacular view off Britains most Southerly point, hoping to spot Seals basking on ther rocks below.

We’ll have a photo-stop at the famous Kynance Cove before we visit Cadgewith, an unspoilt traditional fishing village, where we can watch the fishing boats come and go, and maybe grab a well earned pint in the local pub!

We’ll end the day with a scenic drive through Mullion, Poldu and Porthleven.

We start the day down at Marazion visiting the famous St Michaels Mount. Steeped in fascinating history, with amazing views over Mounts Bay, and still the family home of the St Aubyns, with its little fishing harbour and tidal causeway the Mount holds plenty to see and explore. After the mount we take a scenic drive around the bay to Mousehole, take a little wander then head off around the Lands End peninsula with a mix of Ancient stones, fishing coves, the amazing Minack Theatre, mines and stunning sea and coastal views. We end the day in the Artist mecca of St Ives where you can wander around this picturesque fishing town and peruse the Shops and Art galleries.
